The correct belief in Allah’s attributes

From what I understood in the Aqeedah of the Salaf-us-Saalih, is that Allah has no image, but has a form, how? We don’t know, but we affirm He has a face as He has affirmed this for Himself, but as to how? We don’t know. Is this correct? If not, please correct and clarify? May Allah bless you.

Umm Abdel-Malik:

We affirm Allah’s attributes, Mighty and Majestic is He, upon the truth like He affirmed them for Himself, without asking “how”, without resembling Him to any of His creation, without ta’weel (distorting the word or meaning) nor tashbeeh (resembling Allah to his creation). Allah’s face, Mighty and Majestic is He, is true, and there is nothing like Him, and yes, He has a “how” ( له كيف ) but we do not know it, and same happens with the rest of His attributes.

Imam Malik said:

الاستواء معلوم والكيف مجهول والايمان به واجب والسؤال عنه بدعه

Meaning: “Istiwaa (rising over the thrown) is known but “how” is unknown (for us) believing in it is obligatory and asking about it as an innovation”
