Differences between men and women’s prayer

Question:

May you please clarify if there is a difference in the way men and women pray? There are narrations given to me stating that the women must sit on the ground and not on her left foot and that women must keep hands and feet close together during prayer. Are these narrations from the Companions correct? May Allah bless you.

Zaynab El-Kateb:

The Prophet, may Allah exalt his mention and grant him safety, said,

النساء شقائق الرجال

Meaning: Women are twin halves of men.

We do all the acts of worship same as men except the acts or issues that are specified to be only for men. Like Adhan, and being an Imam in a mosque.

The Prophet, may Allah exalt his mention and grant him safety, said,

صلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
Pray as you saw me praying.

And there is no hadith stating that women should pray in any different position.
