Shall I spend the same amount of money on all my children?

Question:

In shaa Allah you and your loved ones are in a good state of health and imaan.

My question concerns the equal treatment of children with regard to material things. Do I have to spend the same amount of money on them for clothes and shoes and other necessary things or do I have to check what they need and buy that for them?

For example: Shoes and clothes for my eldest son are more expensive than these for my eldest daughter. For women there are cheaper alternatives that are good.

Does she have the right to the same amount of money or not?

Sheikh Adel As-Sayed:

You are not requested to spend the same amount on your children. You spend according to the needs of each child. Meaning a 10 years old child might need more money than a 5 years old. So you spend according to the appropriate needs.
