Saying amin after our own supplications

Home / Fiqh / Saying amin after our own supplications

Question:

May Allah reward you with good. Is it legislated that we should say ameen after saying our own supplications? For example if I say “may Allah increase your provision, ameen”, just like saying it after Surah Al-Fatiha. If we should say ameen after our own dua, is this then in every situation? For example in prostration, before maghrib on friday, or in a regular conversation? May Allah bless you.

Umm Abdel-Malik:

Ameen means “O Allah respond (to the supplication)”, you may say it or not, as you wish.
