Vitamins in gelatine capsules

Question

Alhamduillah I am pregnant, the doctor recommended me that I should eat folic acid as this is really important for the baby but the problem is that eating tablets or the liquid version makes me sick and and it is really hard for me, SubhanAllah

But there is another option called ‘prenatal gummies’ however, they contains gelatin.

I haven’t bought them yet because I’m not sure, I feel that I’m selfish to my unborn child and I really don’t know what to do, alhamduillah I do have trust in Allah.

I really need your advice and whether its permissible for me to eat the ones that contain gelatine, they taste better and easier to swallow. I believe that they would improve my health

If the Gelatine is made or contains pork then it is strictly prohibited. And the Prophet, peace be upon him, said that Allah did not make what is haram a cure for his Ummah (Muslims). I want to suggest if you ask a pharmacist to grind the folic acid and put it in an empty capsules (used for medicines).
We take care of our children within the legislation of Allah trusting that Allah is the One Who protects and cures.

Sheikh Hassan Al Banna gave this fatwa for a previous question, that gelatine containing pork is prohibited.
Yet, as Sheikh Adel Al Sayed told me the fiqh of Muslims living in kuffar country might need someone who is knowledgeable with the circumstances and conditions of these countries. Sometimes it needs a strong student of knowledge or scholar who studied the factors according to the situations and environment.
