Cutting curly or long hair above the eyebrows
Question:
In the time before Islam I used to pluck and cut my eyebrows for a very long time. My eyebrows became different and they have changed so much that they do not look like they looked from my birth anymore.
After accepting Islam, I found out that it is not allowed to change the eyebrows, nether cut nor pluck them, and Alhamdulillah I have stopped doing it.
But now that I stopped doing it they grow very long and become curly in some places and it doesn’t look beautiful.
My question is, can I cut the long eyebrows and make them the same length as all eyebrows? Not plucking them, but only to cut those long and curly ones so they can look good and be together with the shape of the whole eyebrows?
Shaikh Adel As-Sayyed:
Yes, it is strictly prohibited to pluck your eyebrows. However if there is some curly or long hair above the eyebrows or coming out of the eyebrows, then you can cut it with a scissor in order to make it look good but don’t pluck it.
