Are black dogs and cats Shayateen?

Question:                                                                               

I know about the hadeeth that the black dogs (completly black) are shayateen. Some people believe that other kind of black animals like cats are also shayateen. Is there any proof of this in the Qur’an and the Sunnah as understood and practiced by the salaf us saalih?

Sheikh Al Albani answered to a similar question saying that the hadeeth referred to the black dog.and not to any other black animal.
Note:
Scholars say that the Shaytan might take the shape of a black dog but not every black dog is a shaytan.
