Saying that the Companions differed in Aqeedah

Question:

I have no doubt that it is impermissible to differ in Aqeedah. However, is it correct to say that the sahaba differed in some of the furoo’ (branches) of aqeedah such as if the Prophet saw Allah? May Allah bless you.

Shaikh Adel As-Sayyed:

The Companions didn’t have ikftilaff in Aqeedah, never.

Regarding the matter of the Prophet seeing Allah’s face, it’s not an Aqeedah matter and it does not have anything to do with Aqeedah. This is خبر (ie. information) and it’s not related to what we should believe.

What we should believe is what we find in Aqeedah books, for instance Allah’s names and attributes, the belief in the Angels, the qadr, the revealed Books and so on.
