Incontinence while praying

Question:

A sister has incontinence when she coughs. She is sick with cough and fever. She uses a pad to prevent soiling. Does she have to change her pad if soiled before every prayer and make wudhu for every prayer?

Her cough is severe and she begins to cough during the prayer. Does she have to make the ablution again and repeat her prayer again? If the water is making her more sick can she do tayamum (purification made with soil) instead? May Allah reward you with goodness.

Zaynab El-Kateb:

In her state she makes the ablution before each prayer and puts fresh pads. During praying the obligatory and the voluntary prayers she ignores anything that might be dropping in the pad, any urine going out will not affect her prayer. In this case do not leave the prayer to start again. Your prayer is completely correct.

As for tayamum:

If the doctor says that the ablution harms her health, then yes, she can make tayamum.
